Developing The Whole Child
A Free Program Focused On Math, Literacy, Hands-On Experience, And Social Skills
VPK | must be 4 by September 1st | serving Lake Worth, West Palm Beach, Greenacres & Palm Springs, FL
The Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten program, commonly known as VPK, is a free part-time program for all Florida’s 4-year-olds. Your child must be four years of age by September 1st in the current school year to be eligible.
The VPK program runs from mid-August through the beginning of June. There are restrictions of hours for the free program, but you have access to a full-day program that extends the curriculum instruction for your child.
When VPK is not in session, pre-kindergarten kicks in, and your child stays on track for Kindergarten with a curriculum that follows state standards. Choose from our free part-time program or extend your child’s learning experience with our full-day year-round wraparound program.
We focus on developing the whole child in preparation for Kindergarten. The curriculum emphasizes math and literacy, hands-on experiences, child-initiated learning, small- and large-group instruction, and social skills development.
All-In Care That Means A Solid Foundation For Learning
A common mantra for this age group! In this program, your child learns the academic skills needed for Kindergarten. These skills create a solid foundation for higher-level learning and help your child feel empowered when it comes to their learning path.
Essential Skills That Result In Kindergarten Readiness
The focus is on teaching your child language skills and math skills, fully preparing them for their start in school.
Throughout Their Day They Learn:
- Phonological awareness
- Syllable segmentation
- Metalinguistic skills
- Quantitative and qualitative concepts
- Patterning and sorting
Gaining Lasting Social-Emotional Skills
Imagine your little one making new friends, building confidence with exciting new self-help skills, understanding their own emotions and self-regulation, as well as calm, centered assertiveness. These skills in independence are important building blocks not only for school success, but also for life.
Jam-Packed Days Full of Learning and Fun
The VPK day consists of many activities to keep your energetic child moving, exploring, thinking, and creating. The schedule has a design to engage your child’s learning in small group, large group, and independent settings. Each type of setting develops skills in your child that are necessary for learning in elementary school.
Stay Update With Your Child's Progress Through An App
A convenient phone app allows you to connect with your child’s day even if you aren’t there. Receive updates about their learning, break times, and overall progress. Smile throughout your day with updates that matter!
