Where Learning And Discovery Meet
Solid Curriculum, Communication Practice, And Play Come Together To Develop Great Minds
2 Year Olds Program serving Lake Worth, West Palm Beach, Greenacres & Palm Springs, FL
Two-year-olds are full of energy and love to discover new experiences within their environment. Anything new sparks their curiosity, which, in turn, encourages their acquisition of more mature language skills. Although they love new experiences, their attention span is still very short, so they need various activities to keep their interest.
Our two-year-old room provides the children with diverse activities to stimulate children’s independence, language, social, gross motor, fine motor, and cognitive skills. Children are free to choose the activities that interest them, including music, dancing, painting, building, reading, exploring, and pretend play. Additionally, potty training is a significant milestone for this age group, and we enthusiastically celebrate each child’s accomplishment as they conquer it.
Speaking, Singing, and Listening Sparks Early Communication
Children practice speaking in 2 to 3 word sentences and begin to remember their experiences that they witnessed throughout the day. Learning and reciting simple songs and rhymes are a favorite activity for this age group. They enjoy listening to short stories, and eventually have a favorite story that they want to read over and over and over again. They may even pick up the book and pretend to read to you!
Daily Movement That Promotes Physical Growth And Motor Skills
Throwing, catching, and kicking are emerging skills, but you may notice that children at this age have stiff body movements while trying to accomplish this task. Parents often see their children beginning to grip writing tools with their whole hand, but may use their whole arm to make the marks on paper. Outside time on a safe playground with turf gives your child more space to grow.
Focus On The "Individual Child" Builds Social-Emotional Skills
Recognizing and understanding that your child is an individual means that words like “me” and “mine” are very common. Children learn how to process feelings like anger and sadness, and use empathy and respect when dealing with others. This gives them the tools they need to become the best versions of themselves beyond the classroom.
