karla Ms. Karla
A Baby's World and Palm Beach Preschool Owner

My Name is Ms. Karla and I am the owner of Palm Beach Preschool and A Baby’s World.  I have worked in the educational field for more than 17 years.  I am a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Florida, and I hold a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders from California University of Pennsylvania, a small university town just southwest of Pittsburgh.   I began my educational career with the Palm Beach County School District where I primarily worked with children in grades K-5, however I have had the opportunity to work with children from Pre-K through High School during the 9 years I was employed with the district. My interest in Early Childhood Education began with my first class of Kindergarten students.  These students were the ones who inspired me to tackle the challenges that are presented in early childhood education.

With being a working mother of 3 children, I saw the need of high quality childcare in our area.  Between my own personal need, the inspiration of my kindergarten students, and my personal enjoyment of early childhood education, I set forth to make my dream a reality.  In 2007 my husband and I purchased Palm Beach Preschool and A Baby’s World.  Since then I have been an active, on-site owner of both schools.

I enjoy teaching because I am always learning something from the children.  Each day is different, and each child is an experience.   Maria Montessori is the person who inspired me.  She believes the teacher must guide the child in a respectful and loving manner, be a conscious observer, continue to learn, and walk with the child in learning.  She based her ideas on respect for children and their amazing ability to learn.
