Infants

Our infant room is a clean, tranquil environment designed specially in mind for babies. The room is set up with a play area which enhances the infant’s gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, language, and social development skills. The play area is divided into centers (library, dramatic play, math manipulatives, blocks) and we provide ample tummy time throughout the day by limiting the use of stationary equipment.

To help support our clean environment, we have a shoe-free policy in the infant room. Booties are supplied for all staff and visitors.

Infants are on an “on-demand” schedule. When infants are sleepy, we provide space in their own crib for rest purposes. When hungry, they are fed nutritionally balanced foods. The infant teachers individually consults with each family to help the child achieve his next nutritional milestone, from full bottle dependency, to the introduction of baby foods, to the introduction of soft finger foods. Parents are provided with a daily note that outlines the child’s day, including their eating, diapering, and sleeping routines.

A Baby’s World uses a researched base curriculum, Creative Curriculum, that guides the caregiver to plan for your child’s next developmental milestone. Our teachers use the Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment, which correlates with Creative Curriculum, to direct the care for each child on an individual basis.
